I used to like Time Warner Cable very much. I think they have the best and cheapest Internet. Well, before they were bought by Spectrum. The spectrum is now worse than Kang Custer.
I started using them last June and got 200 Mbps of the Internet for $60 after taxes and router leases. This is a staggering deal for new customers. Then one of my roommates wanted a TV and a home phone so he could get rid of his cell phone (he’s a weird fucking guy). The third day after he moved in, I went home and turned on the light. He was sitting on the sofa in the living room, eating in the dark. I asked him why he said he could not find light. Strange guy. I probably only had him snarling for one billion times, so we upgraded our package.
A few months later, he decided he didn’t need TV anymore, so I called them and they explained that if I wanted to get rid of TV, they wouldn’t have a 200 Mbps package because they’re now Spectrum, they only have 100 and 300 packages and giving up TV would save us $10 a month. That ridiculous roommate said it, so the stupid ass here paid another $60 for his mother’s home phone. Up to you. His money.
Anyway, he decided to move out, so I called them to find out the price of the Internet. This is where the shit program begins. They tell me that getting rid of mobile phones is basically the same price, or even higher Internet. Um… It doesn’t make sense to me. So I find that downgrading the Internet is also much. After tax, 100Mbps is about $85. I decided to do some research.
I checked online to see if they had given new customers the same deal 44.99, so I started chatting with them and asking them about all their deals. Here is how companies really show how bad they are. For new customers, 100 GBps is 44.99, ULTRA speed is 300 Mbps is 84.99, if you want super, then you have to pay 199.99 activation fee. This is actually a MADE UP fucking cost! In fact, it even says that if you already serve Time Warner, there is no cost to upgrade to it. They didn’t do anything, but pressed the button that you wanted faster Internet. They also adopted the “WiFi start-up fees” made by other bad companies, which is also a subsidy fee.
Anyway, I told them, as a new client, I had two months to go in the first 12 months, so I should pay another 44.99 two months, and after talking to a lot of different people, they told me that a few hours later I switched to the triple play package, which cancelled my new client status, and I was not allowed to downgrade. . Usually, I’m a professional talking to these companies and figuring out how to get them to give me what I think I should be a client, but because it’s New York, every region is fucking monopolistic Internet service that’s basically leveraged and they can almost tell you to do it because we have to pay Pay them to tell us the cost. Now I’m angry because my stupid roommate, we paid $80 in two months instead of 50% of the speed of the original Internet service.
